Important Lesson: The Rich Don't Work for Money

8 minute read

👋 I recommend Bookmarking or Printing this blog post so you can come back to it and pick up where you left off.

Ok I am going to jump straight into it and explain to you 4 Rules you need to learn!

  • Rule #1 - A 9 to 5 Job can only take you so far
  • Rule #2 - Focus on Building Assets
  • Rule #3 - Build an Online Business!
  • Rule #4 - Money Solves Problems!

Let’s begin!

Rule #1 - A 9 to 5 Job can only take you so far

“The rich DON’T work for money. They make their money work for THEM. They work for assets, not a paycheck.” - Robert Kiyosaki

Think about it: what “JOB”, unless you’re a big time CEO or a professional soccer player, could EVER make you REALLY rich, no matter how hard you worked?

The majority of people work hard at a job, but not so many work hard to create assets.

When you have created the asset, the asset will then work hard for you, rather than you working hard for money.

For example: Rental income (from real estate), Sales (from a business), dividends (from shares) and intellectual property (patents/trademarks) are all examples of passive income which come from assets.

This is one of the biggest reasons (but not the only reason) why some people get rich and some don’t.

The general focus of the majority of people is to get a job. Many people work hard at a job (but have no assets) therefore they have no passive income and will probably never be rich. And if they lose their job, they are in big trouble. But someone who has created assets will continue to have streams of income coming in no matter what happens.

Not only that but being an employee fkn sucks!

7 Reasons Why Your Job Sucks

  • You are building other peoples brands and empires
  • You're more than likely going to be overworked and underappreciated
  • Time away from Family! (I never saw my dad growing up, his job owned him)
  • You will forever be working under someone
  • Climbing the corporate ladder is slow, painful and extremely political.
  • Potential for Bullying (I don’t know about you but I was bullied at my old job)
  • Freedom is lost

I could go on and on, but I don't want to drain it! Anyway on to the next RULE!

Rule #2 Focus on building assets

Now the rich are working for assets, and what’s an asset? Real estate’s an asset. A business is an asset, Gold is an asset, Silver is an asset etc.

These assets are all very powerful and bring in passive income.

An online business has the potential to make $100,000 a year, $1,000,000 a year or even $100,000,000. In the world of the internet, anything is possible really.

Rule #3 Build an Online Business!

My absolute favorite type of asset is an Online Businesses:

  • You are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Can sell your products/services to anyone in the world
  • Low start-up costs
  • Growth opportunities are endless
  • Can run your business from anywhere in the world

Does it get any better than that?!

As my boy Warren Buffett says, “If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until the day you die”.

Rule #4 Money solves problems!

Because Money = Freedom.

Being able to live a life where you dictate your own rules, where you only answer to yourself, write your own paycheck and control the time you spend with your loved ones, is priceless.

You were not born to just go to work, pay bills and then die!

Now I am not trying to sell you the dream, or tell you that it is easy. I am simply just trying to open your mind to other possibilities out there in life :)

Entrepreneurship isn’t easy… but it is WORTH IT!

It provides a rush that is hard to duplicate. There is no greater shot of adrenaline than the one you receive after reaching a goal and knowing you worked extremely hard to get to that point.
